I called Uber 15 minutes before the appointment, I help my friend to get it . The bad driver late for 15 minutes and called off the trip just because he didn’t know the road well ?
Uber system is lousy and expensive. Always hire inexperienced drivers wasting customers’ valuable time !!!!
Not recommend to anybody who tried to use Uber / Uber X . Going to delete Uber taxi & Uber eats apps asap .

Ok I officially hate this app (and most of the drivers I have met in Hong Kong). Could Uber at least: 1. Get the directions right, don’t lead the drivers to the wrong pickup location with your map; 2. Let me know if the drivers can understand English; 3. Not let the drivers get away with behaviours like accepting my order and then staying where they are for 10 mins waiting for me to cancel the order; 4. Not charge ME the cancellation fee after the driver cancelled my order?
These are like, the most fundamental and basic stuff. Not to mention the horrible customer service and feedback system as well as loads of other things that don’t make sense.
Apparently, Uber thinks they’ve monopolised the market in Hong Kong and customers have a dependency on them so they could treat their customers like crap. So I have decided to uninstall. I am not gonna touch Uber ever again. Lol.

Someone use my name and credit card to open an account. Make 4 expensive purchases in 15mins. Only email can reach the uber support. The support team reply me a day later and then checked for one day. He told me that account is my another account and told me to check my other account. What a ridiculous reply!?
The Security of the app is so bad that anyone can use your name and credit card to make some rides. And nobody needs to be responsible for that.

Uber app fee is MUCH EXPENSIVE than real one. It charge me $84 fm kln bay to sau mau ping, which actually is only $57. It’s 30% more than actual one!!!!
I made the complaint and it replied that the fee is system suggestion. How inaccurate the system suggestion!!!!!

Uber is double the price in Hong Kong . If you just take taxi from causeway Bay to wan chai It will be $27 to $30 . If you take Uber it is like $50 dollars . And that is crazy . Better to get a taxi in the street or call one in hk taxi app .

由於每次遇到的司機不同,有好司機也有壞司機。壞司機就是接你的時候需要花費很多時間(10分鐘以上)。其中有一種情況是司機找不到你上車的地點,或者司機覺得來的路程太遠了,趕不到了,司機就會取消訂單。然後你等待的時間就會被莫名其妙的浪費掉,要再次下單約車。這期間有可能一直約不到車,重複下單和取消訂單這樣的流程,取消訂單還要扣取費用,雖然可以通過客服申請退款,但是被浪費的時間是無法退款的。總之每次叫車的時候,都是感覺需要運氣和耐心,這個服務方便但是使用者的精神上不會輕鬆,覺得時間緊迫的人不推薦使用。

Called Uber in HK but the driver made different excuses and in the end simply ignore my calls! And of course, the driver never showed up and left me no choice but to cancel the request after waiting for more than 20 minutes! And I was penalised for that! Very bad experience due to a software issue. But I cannot found any place for reporting software bug so post a review here.
Trying to request a trip for my brother. A driver is assigned within minute and I capture the car plate number and send it to my brother. After ~10 minutes, I got an message from driver told me that he has arrived and has been waiting for some time. It turns out that the system reassign another car for some reason but failed to send me notification. This resulted in no one is going to notify my brother and both my brother and the driver waited at the same place for near 10 minutes.

Rude drivers, poor in app GPS, drivers cancelling is fine but if riders cancel we have to pay, even if the driver hasn’t arrived to pick up they still charge for waiting time, poor customer service that trolls you and pretends to care. The driver delivery the food into the wrong place, therefore, I phone him and asking where he is, telling the correct place and he say he will come, but he never come and the notification saying the food already arrive, I contact to the customer service, and say he has follow the policy and waiting for you at the outside seven minutes and not going to refund me. I’m really dissatisfied about this app because the drivers are very rude and plus the cost is twice than the actual trip price you get from a taxi. I got me a driver that I waited for 15 mins and after he arrived in the pick up spot he didn’t even wait for me for 2 mins and started the trip without me and charged me money for it. I already contacted the Uber service about the issue but still hasn’t got my refund till now it’s been 1 month already. I will suggest all my friends and relatives to not use this app anymore because it’s just a waste if money and time!

Got cancelled multiple times last minute by the drivers (which apparently means no real punishment for such behaviors) while I would still need to pay to cancel when the driver is late (a lot) because he/she makes a wrong turn.
Really annoying if you compare the algorithm for treating these two scenarios.

I am most impressed with Tommy Cheung. Not only did I get to sit you a beautiful and clean car, Tommy gave up the next customer because he was responsible to send me right to the door.
The next customer would not give Tommy a little more time as we were not able to find the house which I am supposed to go. She decided to jump onto a taxi and gave up her order.

The only time I ever used this app was when I got discount and then the price was at $99 next minute they cancel the order saying there are no drivers and then next minute the price for the same drop off location became $500 and then kept on going up and down within a span of 5 minutes. How does that make sense. Don’t use this app. You even have chance of not getting your money refunded. The decision is yours, do you want your money wasted or what. This app doesn’t have 1 star reviews for no reason.

I have had too many bad experiences with this app, drivers wait at wrong places and then charge me for waiting time, drop me off at wrong place which caused me walking for 20 minutes under the sun .........they just have a stupid map!
And when I complained the waiting charge through the app, the "support" replied they did not charge extra, and I replied with my receipt attached, they would send me email with subject saying "we did not receive your email" because I was using a different email to reply. That is great "support"!

I would like to put up an official complaint to the Uber company, if someone would even contact me. I felt furious about the poor calling and cancelling system. I had made several complaints before about the cancelling as it has been a few times that I am cancelled after waiting for more than 10 minutes. I had demanded improvement and explanations but none I felt acceptable. The customer service never looked into a problem complained and never could give a reasonable answer. I don’t want to say, but I wonder how this kind of company and service could survive in Hong Kong. I would definitely opt for another calling app and not return to Uber, and I would strongly recommend anyone I encounter, NOT to use Uber. I must share all my bad experience with Uber with my friends and family, and anyone who mentions “uber” in front of me. Thank you. - from your furious customer

Haven’t used Uber for 3 years but tried to give it another try. Regrettably it was a poor experience but not because of the driver. Initially the price was quite high but given that it indicated it was very a Tesla vehicle I thought that was justifiable. However in the end an ordinary taxi came and by the time we got back to our destination, the price was 3 times higher than the original taxi fare. Absolute rip off. Never going to use it ever again

Hi Everyone, please bear in mind that Uber will never care about their customers. The driver will charge the waiting time fee to the passenger if they waited for more than 2 mins; last time, I have been waiting for the driver for OVER 30 MINS on the street and it was a rainy night ! The apps showed that the driver drove away from the pick up point and I tried to call both Uber and the driver, both of them refused to take my call and I just spent to wait for the car that never come to approach me! I informed Uber for such case and they just replied me that they will never match this driver to me, no apologize for the inconvenience they caused and never think that how terrible it was to me to wait for the car for over 30 mins! Will never use Uber anymore and advise you guys don’t use it unless you want to experience the same with me. I used Uber for over hundred rides as well as the Uber eat. And what I can say is Uber service is like trash.

Taking advantage of being the main ride sharing app. Skirting the responsibility of ensuring that the service delivers what it markets. The worst customer service team who continue to write template answers without addressing your concerns and avoiding questions until customers are angry enough to leave negative reviews and delete the app altogether. Comments on your social media pages are 90% negative reviews. The main reason to take ubers is the convenience and being able to avoid the rudeness of many taxi drivers. Uber cars are getting more disgusting by the day and drivers are as rude so there is essentially no advantage of taking an Uber.

It is so stupid that they insert the UBEREATS function into the UBER app as if it is so smart to be able to do that, but the only function that works without a problem is placing order and taking your money.
You can’t contact the delivery guy after placing the order, you get a number that doesn’t work when you call, and you cant text him on the Uber app. And you can’t change your delivery address when you realised it is wrong right after submitting the order (somehow they got your address by detecting your location while you use the app i think? So it is an incomplete address). BUT ANYWAYS THEY CLAIM YOU CAN DO THAT WHEN YOU CLICK ON THE “HELP” BUTTON so you waste some more of your precious time in this stupid app for nothing, only to realise you have to download the ubereats app to do that. WHY DON’T THEY JUST SHOW A MESSAGE TO TELL YOU THEY CAN’T ADD THESE FUNCTIONS TO THE UBER APP SO PLEASE SWITCH TO THE UBEREATS APP FOR THE OTHER FUNCTIONS?! Is that too complex an idea to come by??!!

Have you ever felt for the Uber XL trick? Uber thinks it’s a very smart and sneaky company, but users aren’t dumb. The story goes like this:
You start using their services and every time you call an Uber XL they send you an Uber XL, which is a very large car (Alphard etc), usually new, well kept, smelling good, and very comfortable. That’s what you’re paying for given the most expensive option, right?
You appreciate what they send you, and you continue using their services.
A few weeks down the road, you start to notice a smaller XL car here, another bit older XL there, then another one small + old… all of them billed and sent as Uber XL (the most expensive).
Folks, don’t be stupid. If this also happens to you, it’s no lack of luck or mistake - it is how their sneaky algorithm is designed to fool the customer and maximise profits: to gradually send lower quality cars for the same original price that should give you the best for what you pay them.
Sneaky company with sneaky services and sneaky ethics towards both the passenger and driver. Of course, such company will not make any kind of customer support easy for you. The opposite: the app is also designed and engineered in a way so you can’t contact them or talk to anyone about this or any other problem you make have.

While I am not an expert on GIS or mapping applications, can you not show the exact same location and street address on the Uber driver’s app? For many times, I pinned a location and the Uber app shows 123 Street A, which looks good to me. For the drivers often end up waiting at a different spot. Is it better to show the same spot and/or at least the literal words “123 Street A” on the driver’s app? Even though you have some wonderful routing for the driver, the destination gotta be the same. Agree?

Once I ordered a car via Uber, initially a driver was assigned. Waited and waited and suddenly it was cancelled and another driver was assigned. I had to wait for another car and in total I waited for more than 20 mins for a car. There’s no explanation and there’s no way of speaking to someone. Uber’s customer service needs to be improved. The starting location was switched to a wrong nearby GPS point without my notice. When the driver “arrived” I tried to talk the driver into driving round the corner as I desperately need the ride. But he said he couldn’t make it and cancelled the trip. Even the trip was rejected by the driver, Uber still charged me the ride fee with another $20 cancellation fee as it said “there’s costs incurred for the driver to come to the spot”, while I paid the ride fee for nothing and gotta wait for another 20 min for taxi instead.
I applied for review of the cancellation fee then $20 was “credited” to my Uber wallet. It makes no sense as I would never ever use Uber service again. It shouldn’t even be charged in the first place as I was the one being rejected. And such kind of “review” is barbaric as it restricts the rider to use the innocently charged $20 back on a next awful ride with Uber. I am really disappointed with Uber.

Family profile option missing

I have set my mom on my uber family profile for a long time so I pay for all her trips and can view her whereabout as she is old and often need support.
I wanted to add my dad recently and realize the family profile option is gone. He needs to uber a lot as he has recently went handicapped and I appreciate if someone can advise me what to do.

The family sharing function has disappeared when Menu, Settings are selected. I have just updated the app and it still cannot be found. The send Uber message function in the Help section is also gone. I would like to know if these features are removed intentionally or has moved to a different location. I’m going from Hung Hom to Tin Hau (non peak hour), which obviously makes the red tunnel the fastest and shortest route. However, the route set by Uber is always through the west tunnel. I just don’t get it why it leaves no choice to the customer and always provide a both time and price consuming one instead of what the customer wants.

We are going to 370 King’s street west, but the driver turned right when it’s very close to the exact location, I realized it and asked him he’s on King already, no need to turn but he insisted that’s what shows on his GPS! How professional a driver can be if you depends only on GPS?! No even common sense if you are already on the same street only the number is not yet 370! We were forced to leave the car because he said that’s how can go even it’s already 350 King’s Street West, Toronto! A very terrible experience I ever had with an Uber driver here in Toronto downtown.

My biggest complaint is that I've never been notified of the total cost of the trip in advance. Had I known there would be a huge surcharge, I would have taken a taxi. Also, it seems almost impossible to contact customer service from the app. Appallingly poor service from a dishonest company. I guess Uber gets away with it because they are operating illegally. It's time for local governments to step in and force Uber to abide by local regulations or shut down.

I reside in Hong Kong but I use uber in other locations too. When I used service outside of Hong Kong, I was told by many uber drivers that my rating is low, which the drivers were surprised. They told me because they thought I was a great passenger and wondered why!
I think there shld be rating in by city. I know in some cities, drivers tend to give lower rating. For example, in hkg or nyc. I suggest the rating system shld be reflecting “average” or standard deviation (-1, +1...etc) in that city or country.

Honestly, I was so disappointed in this driver!!! I took the Uber a few times today and all of them were great except for this one! The first few times, the drivers were happy and friendly providing the best experience I possibly could have had but instead, the time, we were at the Eiffel Tower and all it took was a little mislocation and the driver was asking me to cancel! It was so rude and reasonable of him! 😡 It didn’t even take him 5 mins to give up and ask me to cancel. At first I agreed because we had a line of taxis waiting in front of us but the worst part was that it costed me €6.00 just to cancel. Then the app automatically sent us an email charging us €6.00! Frankly, €6.00 isn’t a lot but it is unacceptable and unreasonable when all we received was rude manners and no service whatsoever. 😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

I call the Uber today at 12:12, and wait the driver at the place 102 rue Rennes. I wait there for 10 minutes and see the driver drove pass and gone . I message the driver where I am, he got my message and keep me waiting, then told me he’d to cancel.
It’s totally his fault not mine. And you’d to charge me 6 euro without knowing the fact.
You should pay me back 6 Euro and ask the driver to apologise for keep me waiting for 15 minutes and pay more when I call another Uber. Please try to know the fact before you take action. For a true fans of Uber, this time made me very disappointed. This bad experience will remind me don’t reply on Uber next time.

i take Uber and support it since Uber has been in HK. However, my latest 4 rides were encountered unfair ride fares. Debited my a/c more than the agreed price couple times. In short, all scenarios are considered but couldn’t help Uner to find excuses that Uber system calculated wrongly the fares. In addition, Uber nvr hv the hotline for customer to talk to their staffs directly regarding some situations not included in their Apps. So customer has no way to tell them the special situations and can just be only unwilling to accept their unfair ride fares. Very disappointed.

I called Uber this evening and the car came and picked up other rider in front of me!! Both the driver and the rider were not confirm with each other whether they were the right march or not!! I made an inquiry with the driver through their system and he just released our conversation and turned me to another order without asking my consent!! Then the next car came with wrong location (poor GPS system of Uber) detected and I was not being picked up again. After my phone direction the driver came 20 minutes later and I thought I was save but actually not. My destination was the AC Hall of Baptist University along Waterloo Road, but this guy drove me to the car park at Baptist University Road three street away so I had to walk 15 more minutes to my destination, why should I took Uber if I really wanted to walk?? I was so disappointed with such kind of service. Lastly, Uber even double charged my trip. What a terrible experience!!

Horrible navigation leading to over charging

I have been using Uber a lot and until recently I have been experiencing waste of time and money but of the poor navigation of the app. Delay on the pick up, longer route. And they made it very difficult for you to review the fare. Today the estimated fare was $67, it ended up with $93! When I raised the problem, the app said its “within” their expectation. Although I hate taxi, I might have to drop Uber soon!

I call Uber to ride a 5mins trip and the previous driver cancel my order due to his traffic jam. As I am already late, just can take a taxi to reach my destination with no choice. I don’t know Uber has arrange another driver to come which is very late for me. That’s said I have waiting the original driver over 20 minutes and the original estimate arrival time is in 9 minutes! I just had a terrible experience with a UBER driver (HK Toyota Noah E137). I ordered a ride checking the address and exact location before making the order. It was accepted quickly, but the ride never came. I called the driver, he shouted at me to get onto the car, I told him I could not see his car, and I am in front of MacDonald as indicated as the meeting point. He said he was coming. Then nothing. I called again, he got upset and told me to cancel the ride. And before I could say anything, he hung up the phone and cancelled the ride himself. So UBER charged me HKD 20 for cancelling fee! Had to go to the taxi stand and wait for a taxi instead. Also I had a promotion of HKD 30 after 8pm on Thursday, it never showed up in the price until after 10pm. Terrible!

I have had the most ridiculous customer experience with Uber where they double charged me and when I inquired about the charge via email, their customer service gave me non-sense answers and the email got bounce to a different CS rep giving a different answer every time (without referring to the chain of conversation). Many Uber drivers in Central Europe do not carry small change (bills of small denominations & coins), causing unnecessary delay to tourists during cash payment upon arrival at destination. A few of them seemed to expect that the passengers will just tell them to keep the change regardless of the amount. My only issue is sometimes, when you’ve selected a destination point. The route going there is sometimes not what you want. You’ll see the direction is probably taking the longer and more complexed pack than the alternate one.
I hope we can make some adjustments on which path to take because the price of your ride really depends on distance.
My only short term solution for this is Sometimes, I would just have to relocate my pick up point to verify the price and routes to take to get the cheaper offer. Like avoid pick up locations where the road is going the opposite direction where your destination is actually at. That way you can get the best cheaper route.

I was a frequent user of uber. Uber keep over charging me twice with the excuse of “looks like the actual route you took was different from the one initially predicted by the system when the trip was requested”. As I could not choose the route I wanted to, which both customers and drivers can save money from not passing the tolls, it cost even more of payment in the end because they said I had took a different route. This is unfair for customers as I had save money for the driver as they do not has to pay for tolls. This problem has been continually happened again and again for the pass month and the problem still not solved yet.

It is the first time I try use Uber service in HK, I myself as a driver seldom has chance to call Uber but always think this share economy service should be supported, but with today bad experience I don’t think Uber system can do better than the traditional taxi system in HK. Wish they would improve the google maps or whatever gps system the drivers use. And my biggest peeve is the fact that the timing of where the drivers are and the actual time they get to you should improve drastically. I have been using uber since it launched, I used to receive quick respond from the team and am super thankful for the service.
However, for the last 6 months, I have experienced below bad experiences:
1) unreasonable triple pricing (worse than the normal Taxi),
2) no cars available
3) driver don’t know the way as your GPS is not really accurate all the time
4) rude driver - luckily only one
5) the most disappointing thing is your drivers (more than 2) took my order but when I called, they asked me to cancel just because they must takes order to show Uber that they did. Their behavior ended up lead me to missed my train to China 2 weeks ago. This is absolutely a very bad behavior as they had totally wasting their customer’s time especially when we were in hurry.
The worst thing is after experienced all of the above, there is no longer a way to connect with you Uber to make any complaint nor feedback as the function is no longer available. I felt like you are not taking any responsibility anymore.
However, I took few times Uber in Turkey lately but it’s was great although we have language barrier but I felt so comfortable there. They are far better than Hong Kong honestly.

I am a frequent rider. However, but every update Uber got the worse it gets. Never show the real location of the driver and never shows when driver cancels order. I tried a few times waiting like a fool while actually my ride was cancelled. I can't even send feedback to them within the app. Whenever I met some driver being rude or so by refusing destination or cancelling without noticing, riders can never rate them and they continue being picky drivers. Whenever giving feedback I never received their official replies, it's just disappointing.

I was a frequent rider, not until the app starts to have something wrong with its navigation- not only does it keep on showing the wrong location of the driver, it also shows wrong direction and hence my waiting fees and ratings got significantly decreased.
What’s more, the ridiculous part is I NEVER receive a proper response from the Uber staff. It seems as if they would never admit the app’s mistake, nor would they do refunds. I tried replying to their emails but the emails basically respond to nothing that I said regarding the navigation malfunctioning regarding the app. This is also reflected on their options- you will never get the option ‘there’s something wrong with the app’ in the report section.

The concept is good and so are 90% of the drivers BUT if it is important don’t believe the estimated arrival time. You have 5 mins to cancel a car but too many times you discover that the arrival time will be substantially longer than originally estimated. Uber should change the policy so that you can cancel any time if the wait is longer than 5 mins at the time you cancel

The maps are inaccurate, the drivers don’t know the city and follow the inaccurate maps, but above all I feel robbed when, almost every time, I get an estimated “car 6 min away” before booking, and it turns out the car is “completing a ride nearby” and you wait 15 minutes watching the map recalibration game constantly with wait times that go from 1 min to 12 min to anything in between.
I also hate that we get debited a very substantial amount the moment the ride is confirmed.
