Problems on Upload pdf / Photo via App
I am using IPhone 15. When I upload pdf / photo onto existing folder, they can’t appear under App on both iPhone & Ipad but can show on online live only. However I creat new folder and it is ok to upload onto this. No doubt, the problem should be due to recent OneDrive App update.

Stable synchronisation with lack of tree view
As a cloud drive app, OneDrive offers a stable and reliable synchronisation which is great. However, as a file management app, it would be better to support tree view and duplicate function. Hope that Microsoft enhances the app in the near future.

Failed to upload photos as pdf
I was using lens, one day it forced me to use onedrive, but I couldn’t use photo to make pdf, I must use camera which is extremely inconvenient to me as I was using iPad to do my assignment that there’s no physical form for camera to capture, I’m very disappointed

Not updating
I updated the document using my laptop and then saved it into OneDrive. After that, I used the OneDrive app to send out the document by WeChat. However, despite the document showing on screen as having been updated, was the previous version that has not been updated. I’ve never come across this and it’s actually very embarrass for me to be sending out documents that are incorrect. So this becomes a reliance issue on this. And I think Microsoft should look at it immediately.

Good - but buggy
Can only delete 20 pics at once.. why? 🤷♂️. Photos show in a different order on gallery in windows 11 (yes I’ve changed changing the sort). The design of the black bar at the bottom which pops up when you select a picture is cumbersome and takes up 1/3 of the screen. For file syncing and M365 is great. Photo/video syncing not smooth.

Function Needed!

Issue with File Path Movement After Folder Name Change
I have been using Microsoft OneDrive for a while now, and overall, it has been a reliable tool for cloud storage. However, I've encountered a recurring problem where after changing a folder name, the file within it seems to lose its path and goes missing. This has caused some confusion and inconvenience when trying to locate specific files.
I would greatly appreciate it if the developers could look into this issue and provide a solution in the next update. Ensuring that file paths remain intact even after folder name changes would significantly improve the user experience and make file organization more seamless.

New version new bugs
The ‘redesign’ caused more chaos compared to the new layout that everybody likes. Ability to make available a folder isn’t working, and integration with iOS file broken from time to time. Searched online for the issue and the earliest post found is back in Feb 2025 - nearly 2 months passed but they’re still not fixing the issue.

"camera upload" too easy to enable
very good with recycle bin in app ,but the 'camera upload' button is very dangerous as most people stored over 100GB of photos and videos in phone ,and it waste a lot of time to upload if ones tap the button by mistake but ones don't want this feature. Better to provide a version which can enable the 'camera upload' only by additional password

‘Contents unavailable’ on. iPad Files app
After update to 15.8.2, I was unable to access both my Onedrive accounts on Files on my iPad which shows ‘contents unavailable’ when I press on the Onedrive in the sidebar.
This occur after recent App update to 15.8.2. Works ok on iPhone though. And on the Onedrive App

can't download all files in a foler after clicking make available offline. a red cross shown up and there's nothing you can do to solve it, maybe except opening every single file in order to download it. Same thing happen even after you remove the files and repeat the actions again...

OneDrive deleted the whole “My document “ without asking
OneDrive try to backup my local computer and deleted the whole “My document ” and images in my pc without asking, and then upload it to the onedrive cloud. Often not responding
I have encountered countless errors when I used the function of editing pdf (adding comments or drawing). I wrote a lot and then it suddenly told you that it FAILED to SAVE!!!
Also, when I need to some pdf slides for presentation. It will appear as blank pages with a loading signs for hours and then stop responding.
I’m totally disappointed with the apps version of OneDrive.

Photo backup is slow
Photo backup view is very bad. It is very laggy when I scroll the photo backup’s photo grid view. And it will crash if I scroll it quickly.
Backed up photos’s dates are the upload date rather than the photo metadata date. It make the date useless when I upload my old collections to the cloud. All photos becoming the same date.

Feature Request!!!
We need the feature that it only shows the images from selected folders in the gallery (Such function is available in the PC version). As I also sync the Document folder through OneDrive, I don’t want the thumbnails inside Document folder to be displayed in my gallery.

STILL READ ONLY in File app
Come On, I am using iPad for some of the work but I have one drive from my corporate account. BUT the file APP still see it as READ ONLY and I can’t create anything in the File app. And when I want to attach something in emails, it just can’t attach stuff from One Drive. No longer playing nice with Files app
I have been a long time user of one drive and absolutely loved it. However since upgrading to iOS 14 it no longer plays nice with the Files app on iOS. When I click on One Drive folder in the files app I get the following message: “Content Unavailable: The folder contents could not be displayed due to an unknown error”. Glitches can happen in software and users can be understanding but on this one thousands have written on various boards and not a word from Microsoft. This does not happen on Google Drive or Dropbox. I guess Microsoft wants us to switch back to these now superior products. Got it! Will do just that.

Always opened in other OneDrive or Word app, even I wanted it to be Word online
It’s irritating that when I want to open a word doc online, which almost has 99% of functionalities, I’m always redirected to the iPad Word or OneDrive app. I can’t remove those on-device apps as I need them in my daily work associated with my work account. But for full editing experience, I need the online version.

Enjoyed it so far
I use ipad for note taking and windows for other works. I find OneDrive to be the easiest way to transfer files. So far so good. Love the easy of use and the speed, moreover i like that i can directly edit and write on the pdf in onedrive from my ipad, and see the changes on laptop immediately after.

Always succeed on the 2nd attempt (solved)
Whenever I want to save an attachment to Onedrive from whatsapp/wechat/outlook, the first attempt always shows “waiting”. I have used to press CANCEL and try again to get my expected result.
Issue solved. So I gave 5 stars.

Fix the Bugs
If you multitask, switching to other apps while viewing/ editing a PDF file, somehow when you go back to OneDrive, the PDF file is closed and you won’t be able to access any file unless you force close the app and restart it.
That’s a serious problem not being able to multitask.
Also, the mark up function on PDF is great, the smoothness and stability can be improved as some marking is lost. The file wont update after marking up! Frustrating:(

Buggiest ever
Big fan of OneDrive, still is, but I have to say current version is buggiest so far since I have started using years ago. Two issues I see frequently:
1. When try to move file, the pop up menu, starts flashing at different location on the screen, almost like it’s designed to mess with you so that you have to catch it before it disappears.
2. Upload doesn’t work the first time. Need to cancel and restart, works the second or third try.
Pls fix it before.

Sharing function is not user-friendly
Whenever I share a folder link to others, to me when I open the link, it doesn’t go direct to the folder. Instead, it goes to a page of “Shared by me, which is rather indirect. Please have it fixed thanks.

Wosrt cloud I ever used
In summary, Onedrive doesnt handle syncing well.
I use Onedrive across multiple device, and I have no choice because it is corporate policy. Our team is not geographically located in one location so we need a sharing platform for a lot of our work so I exclusively save my files on cloud (we do periodic back up). I use it on my work laptop, personal laptop, and mobile app.
For mobile app, which is what I’m reviewing here, it is very slow. For example I know for a fact that there is a file I want but the app usually spends good 10 minutes to update the lists (i.e. I cant see the new file or folder). Sometime I just want to quickly reference things but that defeats the purpose.
As for desktop/laptop sync client, it is clumsy and spends long time to sync especially when you add too many files in one go. What’s worst is sometime it doesnt sync at all no matter how long, the sync client just stop recognising any changes. Now if you work on one device that’s probably fine (but then you wont get benefit of actual cloud working). Offline working also usually resulted in conflicting versions although you know you are the only person working on the file.
I used Dropbox before my company has this new policy of Microsoft subscription...... I would NOT recommend Onedrive and recommend Dropbox instead; it is much much better at all of those things combined.

Having issue opening the app
Can’t open the app after the most recent update. Will always stuck at the initial page where it have the cloud icon in the middle with the white background.
Also, when trying to import things to OneDrive through other apps, it has no reaction at all... please help. It is a very important daily app to me! Thanks in advance!

Pathetic and user unfriendly!!!
I am an user of three cloud drives iCloud, google drive and one drive. Despite of paying a premium of buying office365, the associated one drive is very very user unfriendly. Below are some of the issues:
1. You cannot see the contents of the drive from your iPhone though you upload contents using laptop.
2. Family sharing does not work though it provides the option. You share with family but some of the family members cannot use while some can.
3. There is no privacy on shared drive. Family members using the shared drive can see your content.
4. Security of the contents is unreliable.

Almost perfect
The best part is the office apps integration. Most of the things work okay for me and I love the features.
Just 1 gripe: it has strict restrictions on file names and that creates sync issues. Didn’t face this problem with Google and Dropbox.

Photo upload failure
When I have selected a large numbers of photo and tried to upload it to One Drive, it will always fail. Not sure if this is a iOS problem or One Drive app issue.

Badly PDF editor and the preview problems
The updated PDF editor is beautiful than the old version but it is poor in the function. The basically functions are missing like adding word etc..
And the updated version have a pre-view problem which I have update a word file on it and then I want to preview on the apps, but I cannot. I just see the older one. Please solve this problem, it make me really confuse where I have or not to save the files.

New update pdf fail
I used to love the in app PDF editor/annotate function as it would automatically sync and I wouldn’t have to import / export it back and forth to adobe or other pdf readers. After the update, the pen function is horrible - the writing is unsmooth and whenever you draw anything with a curve (circle, scribble, word) the line is not a smooth curve but instead a lot of straight lines. This makes handwriting or drawing diagrams (even with the Apple Pencil!) so difficult and annoying. I have had to download another app that has better drawing/annotating functions. Please update to something better/ similar to before bc I love the app otherwise.

The new version on iPad is really a rubbish
Can’t edit pdf files at all after updating. However, I was fond of using OneDrive on iPad to edit pdf using the previous version.

Please Improve your PDF viewing function
I find it very inconvenient to view PDF files in the latest version.
First of all, the app shuts down too often. It either shows a loading sign and redirects me back the cover page of the document, or it just freezes suddenly. It is so frustrating that I considered to use some other apps to view my PDF documents.
Secondly, the tabs in the thumbnail view for viewing annotated/bookmarked pages is no longer available. It is extremely inconvenient for me because I often have to scroll all the way back to the page that I was on after the app shuts down unexpectedly. It bothers me a lot when I have to spend so much time finding where I was at, especially when the document contains hundreds of pages.
Please fix your app as soon as possible. I really liked the app and I have been using it for years, yet this update is such a disappointment.

The old version pdf editing function is better
I like the old version one there are more functions for me to edit a pdf more than this latest version. And also the old version contains dictionaries it is really convenient for users to check out the meaning without changing any apps.
Pls make some updates to be more better or at least make it like the old version or better but not this one

Don’t have the dictionary function
After the new update, it lost the dictionary function while I’m reading PDF file.
Except faster upload it is very unfriendly.
I like to downgrade to the last version. If anyone know how to make to restore the last version of One Drive please do let me know!!!

Not good anymore after recent update
I used to markup with Apple Pencil with pressure sensitive hand writing and it was very good, until recent update that the hand writing doesn’t support pressure anymore and loading of documents/ drawings is much slower than before. Can I beg MS to roll back to previous version? I just spent money to provide many colleagues in my office to equip this but the app just doesn’t work anymore!

Annotations save so badly
Sometimes the app may close automatically when using apple pencil to draw annotations. Please change the app to auto save annotation to prevent loss of important information. Also, sometimes the app cannot successfully create annotations by apple pencil. It will disappear. Please fix asap.
Also, please give back the box which can type. Eraser so bad. Photos cannot be attached to file now. All changes are bad.
Please fix the pdf annotation asap.

Very useful by room for improvements
Responsive and native-feel app, reliable and happy to pay for my subscription.
Now to feedback:
- Photos to have the option to only display photos from the Pictures folder, because I don’t want to see my design mock ups, icons when browsing family photos
- Photos don’t seem to use EXIF date, which means when I retouch photos in Photoshop they appear out of order.

Unusable
Since the update. Every time when I have a file opened (let say PDF). Whenever I minimise or my phone automatically locks it self, and after that when I open the app again it will so the oh start up thing with the main app screen with spinning icon!! It’s so annoying and takes up so much time (at least 15 seconds). It’s affecting a lot on my work since I’m on the move all the time and it’s making it unusable.

Annotations sync issues between devices
Update on 25 Nov 2017. Nothing is fixed. The layout issue happens after the content is reloaded.
1. Changes made on iPad are not updated to Cloud, the timestamps does reflect the change
2. Apparently the program takes ‘snapshots’ on changes but it is too frequent and results frequent disruptions
3. During offline edit, instead of roll up all changes and update once, it seems that it uploads the stored ‘snapshot’ individually. Modification on one file results multiple upload
4. All of the sudden, the layout is changed from sliding vertical to horizontal. What’s the purpose of this ‘feature’? How can I disable it?
I hope you can fix it ASAP.

Cannot get support from your team, so what I can do is wrote you a review
Actually the bugs of your apps do affect both my personal and business account, what the heck I cannot get support from OneDrive Personal team?
Anyway, the bug is, when I view a pdf file and if I tap the screen twice, the edit menu bar on the top of the screen will be overlapped by the file name bar. I can only exit the file and open it again in order to have the edit menu bar back again.
I’m using iPad Pro with iOS 11.1. Pleas fix the bug ASAP.
