RegExpress is a full-featured regex workbench for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Build, test, and explain patterns across multiple engines, keep a library of saved snippets, and sync your work across devices when you need it.
Features:
- Regex Playground: Toggle flags like case-insensitive, multiline, dotAll, Unicode, and sticky while you preview matches in real time.
- Multiple Engines: Choose the flavor that matches your target stack—Swift, NSRegularExpression, JavaScript/ECMAScript, Python, or PCRE2.
- Pattern Library: Save patterns with folders, favorites, history, and export options including deep links, files, and code snippets.
- Assistant & Explanations: Get suggested patterns, rationales, and a full breakdown (summary, warnings, tokens, examples, AST) before you use them.
- Code Generation: Produce ready-to-run snippets in Swift, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, or Ruby, then copy or share from a preview sheet.
- Performance Tools: Debug views include execution timelines, slow-token heatmaps, and catastrophic backtracking guards with fix guidance.
- Sync & Language: Optional iCloud sync for your library, favorites, history, and tutorial progress; in-app language picker with English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Data stays on-device unless you enable iCloud.

- Generate and share code snippets for Swift, JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, and Ruby from the pattern tools and library.
- Share or open patterns via regexpress:// deep links (pattern, sample text, and flavor) directly from the library export sheet.
- New Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese localizations with an in-app language selector.
- Rich regex explanation sheet replaces the old alert with summaries, warnings, token breakdowns, AST view, and examples.
Improvements:
- Catastrophic backtracking guard warns before running risky patterns and offers fix guidance or Pro-only auto-fix hints.
- Debug view now charts execution timelines and slow-token heatmaps for clearer performance diagnostics.
- Debounced validation, precompile, and optimization tasks are now cancellable, avoiding stale runs and keeping editing responsive.
Bug Fixes:
- Pattern and folder lists refresh from persistent storage before reads, reducing stale entries after edits or sync.
- Cancelled pending validation/precompile tasks when new runs start to prevent outdated errors or highlights from appearing.
